Wide-ranging activity in the fields of cooling and elevators prompted Electra’s owners to leave behind their early workshops and set up an industrial factory. In order to build the factory, the partners sought out a senior partner who would join them. Chaim Herzog, former President of the State of Israel, was the director of G.A.S. Rasco, and in 1962 bought fifty percent of Electra’s shares. The company’s industrial arm was established.

These were days of industrial prosperity and much excitement. The company’s directors treated their employees well, and the company became known as ‘the Electra family’.
